Dr Mohammed Lotfi is the director of the Australian Halal Food Services, personally providing the expertise having worked overseas for many years as a veterinary officer on meat inspection, veterinary public health and food control. His experience also includes a period as a meat scientist with the CSIRO Australia, Division of Food Sciences and Technology Australia, involved in their Meat Technology Program. Currently he is a professional member at the Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology Incorporate.
In the course of his academic studies and employment with the CSIRO Australia, he contributed in a number of Research Papers & Publications. He contributed the Islamic point of view on the issues raised in the following papers:

Dr Lotfi completed a Masters degree in the field of meat hygiene and meat Science, at the University of Queensland 1991. Thesis: Pathology and Significance of Slaughtered Stock encountered in Routine Meat Inspection.
In 1997 he published a booklet entitled "Halal Food according to the Islamic Laws", in which explained the lawful and the prohibited processes in the slaughter of the animals according to the Islamic Law (Shari'ah).
